How Missouri Car Title Transfer Works

Any time anyone is selling a car in Missouri it involves a Missouri auto title transfer. You’ll have to sign your title in order to complete the sale of the car and transfer ownership legally.

Where Do I Sign a Missouri Title?

Sign the back of the title where it reads “Signature(s) of All Seller(s).”

Print your name on the back of the title where it reads “Hand Printed Name(s) by Seller(s).”

Once this is completed your Missouri vehicle title can be transferred to the buyer, and you can exchange your car for cash!

Can I Sell a Car in Missouri Without a Title?

Missouri requires a title to sell a vehicle. If your title is lost, duplicate titles can be obtained from the MVB.  The Missouri title fee is $11, with a $25 late fee if you move to Missouri and don’t register your vehicle after 30 days.
