Where Do I Sign a Kentucky Title?
Before you sign make sure you’re in front of a notary, because Kentucky titles require notarization. You can usually find a notary at your local bank or post office.
Once in front of a notary, sign on the front of the title where it reads “Transferor/Seller Signature.”
Can I Sell a Car in Kentucky Without a Title?
Kentucky requires a title to sell a vehicle. If your title is lost, duplicate titles can be obtained from the DMV.
APPLYING FOR A TITLE
Take the following items to your local County Clerk’s office to apply for a title:
- Proof of Kentucky insurance (issue date within 45 days)
- Photo ID
- Signed over Kentucky title. (signatures must be notarized)
- If the name listed on your title differs from the name on your I.D., you must provide an affidavit showing they are the same. A marriage license or divorce decree are good examples.
